Refined Edges Each bit has slightly chamfered edges and a smooth top face to optimize engagement with fasteners Long Reach Bits The long bit has 2.4 more inches of reach compared to our standard length bit sockets, allowing you to reach deep into narrow, recessed areas Straight, Permanent Connection The bit is pressed directly into the socket for a permanent connection that won’t loosen over time or under stress Large, Stamped Markings Markings are permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die and are clearly visible because of their extra-deep outline Secure Drive Tool Engagement Detent grooves and beveled edges provide a smooth and secure connection with the drive tool
Each Tekton 1/4 inch drive long bit socket has slightly chamfered edges and a smooth top face to optimize engagement with fasteners. The bits have 2.4 more inches of reach compared to our standard length bit sockets, allowing you to reach deep into narrow, recessed areas. The bits are pressed directly into the socket for a permanent connection. The carefully-controlled process ensures bits are exceptionally straight, and the tightly-mated fit results in a bit that won’t loosen over time or under stress. The socket is made from 6140 chromium-vanadium (Cr-V) steel that’s heat-treated to 40.547.5 HRC. The chrome-plated exterior is highly corrosion-resistant and wipes clean to a mirror finish. The S2 steel bit is heat-treated to 5763 HRC to resist shocks and maintain geometry under stress. Large, stamped markings are permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die and are as large as possible while still being readable along the socket’s curved surface. Detent grooves and beveled edges provide a smooth and secure connection with the drive tool.
