Benefits & Applications

The 2″ x 6″ polypropylene nipple (62193) solves corrosion and contamination problems where metal parts would fail. Its inert polymer construction resists many acids, bases, and solvents, making it ideal for chemical processing, wastewater treatment, and corrosive water distribution systems. Because polypropylene is non-reactive and easy to clean, this nipple can also be used in some food and beverage processing lines where material compatibility permits. The lightweight design reduces installation time and labor. For example, replacing a metal nipple with polypropylene can decrease component weight by a significant margin, easing alignment and support requirements during assembly.

Installation & Operational Guidelines

• Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on threaded connections.
• Do not overtighten; hand-tighten and then apply minimal wrench torque to avoid thread damage.
• Provide proper pipe support to avoid undue stress on plastic fittings.
• Verify temperature and pressure limits for your application polypropylene is best for moderate temperatures and typical plastic piping pressures. For high-temperature or high-pressure systems, consult technical data or contact us.
